Who We Are
An organization built on the conviction that Holocaust education must be deep, sustained, and transformative.
Education.
Commemoration.
Action.
"Memory is not enough. It must become understanding — and understanding must become action."
ECHO — Education, Commemoration, History, Outreach — was founded on a simple but urgent premise: The Holocaust is not a chapter in a textbook. It is a warning, a responsibility, and a call to every generation that follows.
Our mission is to provide high school students with a structured, four-year program that builds genuine historical knowledge, fosters empathy and moral clarity, and develops the leadership skills to carry these lessons forward.
We work with schools, educators, and communities to ensure that Holocaust education is not a one-time event — but a continuous, evolving commitment.
Our Core Values
Depth Over Brevity
We reject superficial treatment of history. Every aspect of our program is designed for genuine understanding, not checkbox compliance.
Empathy as Method
Learning about the Holocaust means learning about human beings — their choices, their suffering, and their resilience. Empathy is not optional; it is the foundation.
Responsibility to Act
Knowledge without action is incomplete. ECHO students are expected to carry what they learn into their communities and their lives.
Continuity of Memory
As survivors pass, the responsibility of memory transfers to those who learn. We take that transfer seriously.
